A rating of Four Roosters means the ultimate dining experience. The wine selection is extensive and well chosen. The service is attentive, but not intrusive. They make everyone feel special. The food is exquisite and unforgettable displaying skill and technique, creativity and flair. The ambiance of the establishment coincides precisely to create a perfect dining experience. The price is worth it.

A Three Rooster rating falls short of four only in that all the required elements are not carried out as expertly. Small glitches may persist in the quality of the service, cooking, or atmosphere. This restaurant is on the border of true greatness. Still the overall dining experience is superb.

Two Roosters signify a restaurant on the way up to achieving its goal of pleasing the very demanding New York City diner. There may be hidden value price-wise or real strength from the kitchen. The restaurant may be weak in areas such as the wine list or parts of the menu, and maybe the service is spotty or intrusive. The food is still quite good and the dining experience solid.

One rooster simply means that the restaurant is worth giving a try, and may offer great value for a dining experience. The food, atmosphere or service may be inconsistent or unimaginative and not true to the purpose of pleasing the NYC diner. However, some things may be done well enough to return, such as a favorite dish or affordable wine list. Prices may vary.
